the Ezeiza International airport, Los Crestones Lodge is named
for the Rosy Billed Pochard, Argentina's most recognizable ducks.
Set in mature parkland and surrounded by fertile countryside,
this Argentina duck hunting program offers discerning guests
mixed-bag hunting for decoying ducks followed by flushing perdiz
over seasoned pointers.
For those who appreciate hunting with finished, well-trained
dogs, Los Crestones is
special among Argentina hunting venues.
Your host, Claudio Villalba, has trained high-caliber
sporting breeds for a quarter-century. They are a pleasure to
hunt over in the fields and in the marshes.
Well-mannered retrievers ensure that even lightly-hit ducks are
recovered and delivered to hand. Perdiz are hunted primarily
over German Short-Hairs and English Pointers. It's a joy
in itself watching them work cover.
In the mornings, you will hunt ducks over decoys in nearby
wetlands. Guests depart the lodge before daylight, but only
after a hearty breakfast, with everything from waffles to eggs
benedict. Double blinds, large individual pit blinds,
or platform-pallet blinds are always easily accessed and provide
solid footing. Each 2 hunters is accompanied by a guide and
retriever, making sure that 100% of birds are collected each
hunt. Most days hunters will return to the lodge for
lunch and siesta before afternoon hunting.
Some afternoons, you will shoot perdiz in the rich pastures near
the lodge. Experienced guides will work with their team of
pointers to provide you with the best possible sport.
Experienced German Shorthair and English pointers, Vizlas and
Brittanies effectively comb the short-grass areas to find
birds. Other afternoons, enjoy more duck hunting or, if
available, wild pigeon hunting over decoys or low-volume dove
shooting.
The largest herds of wild Blackbuck Antelope in the world are
located just 30 minutes from the lodge. A bit farther away
you'll find some of the best wild Axis deer hunting in Argentina.
Full-day or half-day big game hunts are an easy addition to your
Argentina wingshooting vacation. There are no limits on
Blackbuck Antelopes, hunters may shoot 1-2 daily. Allow 1 day
for Blackbuck hunting, and 1 or 2 days for Axis Deer hunting.
Guides are experienced and know these private land areas very well.
They will organize a hunt and even provide an accurate loaner
rifle. They will also guide bow hunters, but additional time
allowances are advised for archery hunts. Let us know in
advance if interested in big game hunting.
Lodging takes place in a classic
Argentinean estancia, which has been recently refurbished and
possesses the comfort and style you would expect of upscale
operations. Internet connectivity and satellite TV are, of course,
available. Guests sleep in one of 6 single bedrooms, each
with a private bathroom. In the evening, superb meals and
fine Argentine wines are enjoyed in the dining room.
Gear and clothing is not a complicated matter for Argentina;
rubber boots or light waders and field clothing appropriate for
temperatures between 30 and 60 degrees are all that's
required. You may bring your favorite fowling piece for about
$100 per gun customs fee or travel worry free and use one of
ours. This estancia is well-stocked with clean, reliable
Berretta or Benelli 12 gauges, semi-autos and over-unders. Let us
handle the worrisome travel details; your biggest worry need be
only what to shoot next while hunting ducks in Argentina.

Itinerary
Sample Itinerary for 4-day Argentina Duck Hunt at
Los Crestones
Day 1. Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Buenos
Aires
Day 2. Arrive Buenos Aires and transfer to the luxury
lodge. Lunch at the lodge will be waiting, and and afternoon
hunt, usually for perdiz, will soon follow.
Day 3-5. Full days of Argentina duck hunting.
Morning duck hunts each day, and afternoon hunts for perdiz or more
ducks. Big game hunts for black buck and axis also
available. All meals will be enjoyed at
the lodge.
Day 6. Following a final morning of Argentina duck hunting
and lunch, 1.25-hour transfer will be provided to Buenos Aires for
your overnight flight to the U.S.
Day 7. Arrive in the U.S. at your gateway airport and make
connections home, usually arriving about
mid-day.
Your Argentina duck hunting itinerary may be fully
customized to allow for touring Buenos Aires before or after your
hunt. We will help make neccesary arrangements for tours,

Packing for an Argentina duck hunt is not complicated.
Weather is comparably mild for waterfowling, and the walk or ride
to the blind is relatively simple. Bring your own favorite
firearm or rent from a selection of clean, reliable semi-automatic
or over-under Beretta and Benelli shotguns. Lightweight,
breathable waders are the perfect choice for the dry or semi-wet
marsh blinds used while Argentina duck hunting at Los
Crestones.

The bag limit, or transportation limit for this Argentina duck
hunting experience is quite generous, but we hope that you will let
your conscience be your guide as well, and compare this shooting
opportunity to virtually any other decoying experiences worldwide.
Our outfitter imposes a limit of 200 cartridges per day (125 per
morning and 75 per afternoon), or 40 ducks per hunt, to balance
action and conservation, as well as to ensure the consistently
productive shooting for this Argentina duck
hunting package. Perdiz limits are 8 per hunter.

Gratuities - Argentina Duck Hunt at Los
Crestones
Gratuities for lodge and field staff are not included in
Argentina duck hunt package cost since tipping, in general, is
discretionary. Because clients have repeatedly asked that we
provide general guidelines the following is suggested:
- $35 per bird boy, per guest/day
- $30 to $40 for the household staff, per guest/day
- $50 to $100 for your shooting guide, per person for the total
stay.
As an example, for a 3-day Argentina duck hunt at Jacana hunt
you will spend approximately $300 in tips, which is $100 per day.
Guests should tip pick-up boys directly in the field. For
transfers in Buenos Aires, your lodge host will tip the drivers and
airport porters but not hotel or restaurant personnel. If you wish
to tip your guide, do so at your discretion.
