About the Area - Alberta Canada Goose
Hunting
Alberta is
located between the province of British Columbia on the west and
Saskatchewan on the east, and between the Northwest Territories on
the north and the state of Montana on the south. The fourth
largest province of Canada, it covers just over a quarter-million
acres. The rich soils of the Peace River valley in
Alberta have been producing wheat crops since the late 19th
century, and the narrow corridor that forms this river valley
contains the first agricultural forage for migrating waterfowl
flying southward from arctic regions. Wheat
and cattle are the traditional mainstays, but Alberta is also the
world's second-largest natural gas exporter. Cereal crops
include spring- and fall-seeded wheat, malt and feed barley, oats,
rye, and specialty crops such field peas - literally a buffet of
high-energy foods for waterfowl.
Alberta is a top waterfowl hunting destination. Alberta's aspen
parkland is home to the highest densities of breeding mallards on
the continent. The prairies have thousands of acres of staging
water with very low hunting pressure. Numerous flocks of
locally raised Canada geese and sharing the Pacific and Central
Flyways, Southern Alberta is blessed with millions of migrating
Canada's, snow geese and white-fronted geese and ducks of all
species. Alberta Canada goose hunts for large Canada geese is
particularly attractive to visiting wingshooters, with many hunts
being complimented with wave after wave of mallards and
pintails. All three species of geese with several species of
ducks can comprise the bag limit on any single hunt.

Bird Processing - Northern Alberta Canada
Goose Hunting
Bird Cleaning is included in the cost of the Eastern Alberta
Canada Goose Hunt package. Birds may be breasted or picked. We
strongly suggest bringing ice chests large enough to ensure proper
care of birds.
USFWS statutes regarding transportation of migratory game birds
are carefully followed:
- All sport-taken migratory birds imported into the US via Canada
must have 1 fully feathered wing attached to the carcass (Head and
Feet do not count). No other types or forms of migratory
birds will be allowed into the US, no sausage or processed
meat.
- All imports into the US of sport-taken migratory birds may only
be imported by the person who hunted them. A hunter cannot give the
birds to another person to take into the US on their behalf.
- Birds, geese, or cranes intended for taxidermy can only be
imported into the US when accompanied by a US migratory bird
import/export permit.
- All illegal birds and/or meat is subject to seizure and
