This excellent high-volume Uruguay ducks hunt offers diversified challenge for the veteran upland hunter. Located on a secluded hilltop, Estancia San Cirilo overlooks Uruguay's Rio Negro delta, and the thousands of acres of sunflower, sorghum, and soybeans that define beautiful western Uruguay. Completely and stylishly refurbished for the 2009 season by your experienced, energetic hosts, the Portella brothers, this architectural masterpiece is situated amid nearly 100,000 acres of wing-shooting paradise. It offers luxury accommodations convenient to daily hunting locations for your choice of ducks, doves, pigeons or perdiz.
Luxury accommodations are complemented by the peaceful flow of the nearby Rio Negro, the picturesque view of endless rolling plains and, right in our own back yard, one of the largest wild pigeon roosts Uruguay. While relaxing on the lower veranda, guests will enjoy a warm fire, an array of table fare, fine wine, and an open bar. Enjoy watching the marvelous flight of pigeons returning to their evening roost.
All 3 meals are taken at the beautiful estancia and include chef-prepared, traditional Uruguayan cuisine, excellent regional wines and open bar. Getting There - Uruguay Duck Hunt at San Cirilo
San Cirilo is located in the northwest region of Uruguay near the river town of Paysandú. The lodge is located approximately 208 miles away from Montevideo, the capital and the major metropolitan center of this small country.
Guests of San Cirilo have multiple means of arrival/departure from the lodge based on their point of origin or final destination. Most commonly, shooters traveling on international flights to Uruguay and Montevideo International Airport will be met by a San Cirilo representative who will assist with gun clearance, if necessary, and who will transport the group to the lodge. The drive is approximately 3 hours through scenic rural Uruguay via paved highway. Alternatively, ground transfer from Buenos Aires or private air charters may be arranged.
Uruguay Duck Hunt Limits at San Cirilo
Uruguay dove hunting and pigeon hunting is unlimited in all regards. The bag limit, or transportation limit for this Uruguay duck hunting experience is quite generous, but we hope that you will let your conscience be your guide as well, and compare this shooting opportunity to virtually any other decoying experiences worldwide. Our outfitter imposes a generous limit of 100 cartridges per morning for ducks to balance action and conservation, as well as to ensure the consistently productive shooting for which this Uruguay duck hunting package is renowned. The daily limit during a Uruguay perdiz hunt is 10 birds per hunter.

Gratuities - Uruguay Duck Hunt at San Cirilo
Gratuities for lodge and field staff are not included in Uruguay duck hunting package cost since tipping, in general, is discretionary. Because clients have repeatedly asked that we provide general guidelines the following is suggested:
- $35 per bird boy, per guest/day
- $30 to $40 for the household staff, per guest/day
- $50 to $100 for your shooting guide, per person for the total stay.
As an example, for a 3-day hunt you will spend approximately $300 in tips, which is $100 per day. Guests should tip pick-up boys directly in the field. For transfers to Montevideo or Buenos Aires, your lodge host will tip the drivers and airport porters but not hotel or restaurant personnel. If you wish to tip your guide, do so at your discretion.

Uruguay duck hunt packages at San Cirilo include: VIP LOUNGE upon arrival at the Carrasco-Montevideo International Airport, laundry service, all meals and beverages, beer, wine, local spirits and open bar, accommodations based on double occupancy King Size Bed (Single occupancy subject to availability), hunting guides and bird boys, soft drinks in the field, airport assistance and daily transfers to hunts, internet access.
Not Included
Uruguay duck hunt packages at San Cirilo at San Cirilo do not include: ammunition, gratuities for guides and house staff, airfares, travel protection plan (trip insurance), hotel accommodations before or after the hunt, items of personal nature, massages (arranged upon request), shopping trips or city tours for hunters and non-hunters, costs related to obtaining necessary documentation to enter Uruguay, costs related to any air itinerary modifications, private charter flights if requested, and airport taxes. Hunting license ($250), gun rentals ($65) or gun permit fees (about $100), round-trip airport transfers ($120) aren't included in day-rate trips. Ammunition costs: $14/box 12 gauge and $12.50/box 20 gauge (prices subject to change).
Itinerary
Sample Itinerary for 4-day Uruguay Duck Hunt at San Cirilo
Day 1. Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Montevideo
Day 2. Arrive Montevideo and transfer to San Cirilo luxury lodge. Lunch at the lodge will be waiting, and afternoon Uruguay dove hunting will soon follow, time permitting.
Day 3-5. Mornings of Uruguay duck hunting, or optional Uruguay perdiz hunting. Afternoons consist of high-volume Uruguay dove hunting. Afternoon duck hunts or pigeon hunts may also be arranged.
Day 6. After another beautiful Uruguay duck hunt and lunch, transfer will be provided to Montevideo for your overnight flight to the U.S.
Day 7. Arrive in the U.S. at your gateway airport and make connections home, usually arriving about mid-day.
Your Uruguay duck hunt itinerary may be fully customized. We will help make neccesary arrangements for tours, dining or shopping in Montevideo or Buenos Aires.
